CLEAR RULES AND STRONG PROTECTION, WITH HONEST TRANSPARENCY

Privacy and SecurityHow to Sign Up for Desired Email

Desired Email is built to protect your privacy and give you control. From the beginning, we designed our system to reduce risk, limit exposure, and keep communication calm and intentional. Security is not an add-on for us. It is part of how the system works every day.

We design our platform to support recognized privacy laws and industry security standards. These rules guide how data is protected, how access is controlled, and how risks are managed. They help ensure your messages stay private and your inbox stays peaceful.

This section explains those laws and standards in plain language. We are open about how Desired Email supports them and where responsibility remains with organizations and users. Honest explanations build trust, and trust matters.

PROTECTING HEALTH INFORMATION WITH CARE AND RESTRAINT

HIPAA

What HIPAA Is

HIPAA is a United States federal law that protects personal health information. It sets rules for how sensitive health data must be handled, stored, and shared. These rules exist to keep private information safe and in the right hands.

Why This Matters to You

Health information is deeply personal. When details about care, treatment, or records are shared, privacy matters. HIPAA helps ensure this information is protected from misuse or unwanted exposure.

How Desired Email Supports HIPAA-Aligned Use

Desired Email uses strong encryption and requires approval before communication begins. We do not read message content and we do not store encryption keys. These design choices help support HIPAA-aligned communication when organizations use the system properly.

Our Status

Desired Email is designed to support HIPAA-compliant use. We do not claim HIPAA certification. Covered organizations remain responsible for their own policies, training, and compliance decisions.

KEEPING PAYMENTS SAFE BY LIMITING EXPOSURE

PCI DSS

What PCI DSS Is

PCI DSS is an industry security standard for protecting payment card information. It was created to reduce fraud and protect cardholders. Businesses that accept card payments must follow these rules.

Why This Matters to You

Payment security protects you from fraud and misuse. You should never have to worry about where your card data goes. Safe payments help build trust and confidence.

How Desired Email Supports PCI DSS

Desired Email uses Stripe Checkout for all payment processing. Card numbers never touch our servers and remain inside Stripe’s PCI DSS Level 1 certified environment. We do not store cardholder data.

Our Status

Desired Email operates within PCI DSS-compliant payment systems through Stripe. We do not directly process or store payment card information. This approach reduces risk and simplifies security.

DESIGNED TO HELP PROTECT CHILDREN ONLINE

COPPA

What COPPA Is

COPPA is a United States federal law that protects the privacy of children under age thirteen. It requires parental or guardian involvement when personal information is collected. The goal is to keep children safe online.

Why This Matters to You

Children deserve extra protection in digital spaces. Parents and guardians need control over who can communicate with a child. COPPA helps limit unwanted or unsafe contact.

How Desired Email Supports COPPA-Aligned Use

Desired Email accounts are managed through a Primary account. Parents, guardians, schools, or organizations control permissions and approve contacts. Children cannot receive messages from strangers.

Our Status

Desired Email is designed to support COPPA-aligned use when accounts are properly managed by adults or organizations. We do not claim COPPA certification. Proper oversight remains essential.

SUPPORTING SAFE COMMUNICATION FOR STUDENTS AND SCHOOLS

FERPA

What FERPA Is

FERPA is a United States federal law that protects student education records. It limits who can access student information and how it is shared. Schools are responsible for protecting these records.

Why This Matters to You

Student records contain sensitive personal information. Families and schools expect privacy and care. FERPA helps ensure student data is shared only with approved parties.

How Desired Email Supports FERPA-Aligned Use

Desired Email allows schools to control who can message students. Communication requires approval, and outside contact is blocked by default. Records remain organized and searchable.

Our Status

Desired Email is designed to support FERPA-aligned communication when used by schools under their policies. We do not claim FERPA certification. Schools remain responsible for their own compliance decisions.
